Phishing Alert Phishing is internet fraud that usually involves a fake e-mail message that appears to be from a legitimate organization. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) notified us that there have been multiple phishing scams that were initiated via email and sent to both the general public and to some credit union members that appeared to be from NCUA. This false email asked for the recipient to click on a link to verify their account registration. If the recipient proceeded to do so, the link directed them to a false website and asked for their credit union account number and PIN. Precautions: Never respond to an unsolicited email, fax, letter, or phone call that asks for your personal information no matter how legitimate it may look. Report all suspicious activity to the credit union at (256) 383-6551. If you have been victimized you should also contact the Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov This is a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center. You should go to www.cybercrime.gov and call the NCUA Fraud Hotline at 800-827-9650.
